GEPS ProfileGeneral Engineering at the University of Illinois is a nontraditional degree program, and despite years of excellence in undergraduate education, as well as hundreds of well-placed, successful, highly-paid alumni, new G.E. graduates often face special challenges in obtaining their first professional positions.The General Engineering Placement System (GEPS) has been developed in order to help G.E. students overcome some of those difficulties in seeking employment. GEPS is a committee of students who assist fellow G.E.s in making contacts, possibly finding jobs, and also try to make the General Engineering Department and its students well known throughout the engineering world, professional and academic.
