1. Final
general meeting of the semester with Arcelor-Mittal
and ASME Officer Elections
Date: April 15, 2008
Time: 5:00-7:00 pm
Location: 135 MEB
As the 2007-2008 academic year draws to a close, we present our final general meeting of the semester. You'll want to be present to win prizes based on your participation over the semester, but even more importantly, this meeting is hosted by the world's leading steel producer -- ArcelorMittal. Come learn about international experiences in the steel industry and how globalization has affected this leader. Dinner, as always, will be provided.
Elections will also be held on this date for next year's executive board position. With a large majority of the current board members being seniors, there is ample opportunity to increase your leadership experience through ASME! The executive board is an excellent way to get personal connections with company representatives, leadership opportunities, and a chance to use some of the engineering skills you have learned along the way. Applications are online at http://asme.ec.uiuc.edu/ as well as attached to this email. They are due by April 13th, 2008 to the ASME mailbox in 158 MEB, or directly emailed to Matt Savoie (msavoie2@uiuc.edu).
If you have any questions please feel free to email any of the board members for more specific information on different positions.
