1 .         General meeting with Motorola

Date: Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: 135 MEB

Motorola pioneered the realm of smaller cellphones with its Razr (R) -- perhaps one of the best-known cellphones on the market today. Come to this informational seminar as Motorola discusses internship opportunities, international experiences, and more! As always, dinner's on us.

2.         EOH Build

Date: Wednesday, February 20th

Time: 5:30 PM

Location: ESPL

We are hosting three different exhibits this year for EOH. The first is a resurrection of last year's penny smasher that will punch a Block I into aluminum disks using a machined die and vice. The second is an interactive exhibit of a hydraulic dump truck that will simulate how a truck bed is lifted, and the third is an exhibit about distracted driving that will feature computer simulations requiring participants' attention for both simulated driving and an alternate task.
The next build will be this Wednesday. Dinner will be provided! For more information contact Carol Regalbuto at mregalb2@uiuc.edu

3.         Broomball Tournament

Date: Saturday, March 1, 2008

Time: 8:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Location: UIUC Ice Arena

The broomball tournament organized by the Engineering Council Service Committee will take place on the night of Saturday March 1 from 8:30 PM to midnight at the UIUC Ice Arena.

The entry fee per team is either $25 or 25 canned food items per team (ASME will take care of it). All proceeds go to St. Jude's Catholic Worker House.
Teams are required to have a minimum of 5 members in order to compete. The registration deadline is February 23rd.

Email Rob Zudic, at rzudic2@uiuc.edu, for questions.

4.         ASME Movie Night

Date: Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Time: 7-9 pm

Location: Lecture Hall TBA (Most Likely MEB)

Movie: Live Free or Die Hard (Please feel free to suggest anything else)

Free Snacks and Drinks will be provided!  Email Rob Zudic, at rzudic2@uiuc.edu, for questions or movie suggestions.

5.         General meeting with Whirlpool

Date: March 4, 2008

Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: 135 MEB

Whirlpool is perhaps best known for its KitchenAid line of kitchen appliances; little known to students is its WERLD program, a leadership development program that is nearly unparalleled in the industry. Come to an informational meeting to learn more about opportunities at Whirlpool and the WERLD program; free smoothies will be served!

6.         General meeting with Eaton

Date: March 11, 2008

Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: 135 MEB

Perhaps best known for its power transmission concepts, Eaton is also a leader in the power distribution and protection segments. It is a pioneer in developing hybrid transmissions for both on- and off-road equipment. Keep watching this space for topics updates and food choice!
