This is an Annual ASME philanthropy event. The proceeds this year will go
towards the ASME Relay for Life team. Other than Professor Tortorelli's event,
all events accommodate four people. We will be auctioning off two pairs of
seats. Which means you will purchase 2 seats at whichever event you bid on. We
have some exciting events this year:
Professor Tortorelli is offering a bike ride and lunch. The ride will
start at his home and will be 15-50 miles depending on the abilities of the
riders. He will provide two bikes and a tandem bike. This event also includes a
grilled lunch at his house! Other riders are welcome, but must provide their own
bike. The minimum bid on this event is $15.
Professor Vanka is offering a home cooked, completely vegetarian, Indian
meal at his home. There are 2 pairs of seats available (4 seats all together).
This promises to be a delicious authentic Indian cuisine. The minimum bid for
this event is: $30/pair of seats.
Professor Newell is offering Dinner for four at Papa Del's followed by
bowling! This has been a favorite event with students in the past and you will
surely have fun with Ty! The minimum bid for this event is: $30/Pair
Professor Glumac is offering a special event on a Tuesday night! Dinner
at Papa Del's at 5pm followed by drafts and fountain drinks on him until 8 pm.
Students said it was great last year! The minimum bid for this is: $40/pair
Professors Keane and Kriven are offering an Austrian/German dinner. They
usually offer this event to the MATSE department and it goes very well!
Professor Keane said to make sure you know there are unlimited liquid
refreshments available through out dinner! The minimum bid for this event is
$50/pair.
Since all money benefits the Relay for Life team we will accept payment in the
form of cash, check or credit card. Credit card payment will be a donation made
via the ASME Relay for Life team page.
Please contact Sarah Brewer (sbrewer2@uiuc.edu)
if you have any further questions. Also there will be a brief meeting for anyone
interested in doing Relay for Life this year immediately following the general
meeting. In other philanthropy news, look for the Spring Clean Up where we clean
up our adopted campus path!
