SME Newsletter 2/15/091. General Meeting with Cook Inc.

Join us for our second general meeting of the semester and learn about the exciting upcoming ASME events. Our featured presentation from Cook Incorporated – a medical products supplier - will provide a great opportunity to learn more about the company, as well as interact with their representatives afterwards during the provided dinner from Jimmy Johns.
2. FE Review Course
The FE Exam is April 25, 2009. For those of you looking for a chance to review the material, ASME will be hosting a review course that begins tomorrow, Monday February 16. If you are interested, you can still sign up or buy a book during the first session or tomorrow on the first floor of Engineering Hall between 10am and 2pm. 4. Happy Hour!

5. Volunteers Needed for EOH
We are looking for volunteers to run tours during EOH on Friday, March 13. It's a fun way to give back to U of I and interact with students who are really excited about engineering and technology. FREE lunch will be provided! Contact Sarah Hoogheem at shooghe2@illinois.edu if you are interested and would like more information.
6. BP Refinery Visit
* When: Monday, February 23rd

7. Softball League
We are wondering who is interested in joining an intramural softball league. The league games begin March 30th. Right now, we need to know if we would have enough people for a team. If you would be interested in joining, email Mark at mcoticc2@illinois.edu for more information.
8. Fundraising Committee
The ASME Fundraising Committee is looking for new members! We are involved with raising funds for ASME's many events, and hold between 3 and 4 events per semester. Past events include a cup night at Fubar and selling snacks in MEL, among others. This semester we are looking to raise money for Relay for Life in addition to our usual events. If you are interested in taking advantage of this fun and unique opportunity, please email ASME Treasurer Jon Grim at jdgrim2@illinois.edu.
